Mrs Charmian Christie has worn many caps in her professional journey, such as an Executive Member of the BAJ where she served as Vice President for the Bursar’s Association of Jamaica and the Caribbean in the Ministry of Education Region 4. She currently serves as President for the Bursar’s Association of Jamaica. As a trained Teacher, she serves as Adjunct Lecturer at the college, lecturing Introduction to Management Studies and is an Academic Advisor for the Faculty of Business in the Associate Degree Programmes.
Charmian Christie is a Strategic School’s Business and Financial Manager at Montego Bay Community College with responsibilities for formulating and implementing operational strategies to meet the Financial and some Administrative needs of the college. Her roles include but not limited to Bursar for the Institution, Director of Accounts and Secretary to the Board of Management. She is the Chief Officer responsible for Administration and Training for the Accounting Team at the esteemed Montego Bay Community College and the Frome Westmoreland campus of the College. She is a Member of Senior Management Team responsible for decision making, reporting, assessment and Planning of Budgets, and is an Executive member of Procurement Team.

Tanya Cargill-Lewis is a hard-working, innovative, achievement driven professional. She is the Bursar of Edwin Allen High School and currently serves as assistant Secretary to the Bursars association of Jamaica. She has been in the financial sector for more than 20 years. She has a plethora of experience in Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance in both Public and Private Sector. She is a Graduate of University of the Commonwealth Caribbean where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Financial Management Major
ASSISTANT SECRETARY

Ms. Janice Taylor is currently the Treasurer of the Bursars’ Association of Jamaica. With over twenty (20) years’ experience in the Financial Arena, Ms. Taylor is presently the Bursar at The Queen’s School and a Member on The Board of Management since 2012. Prior to this she worked at the Dispute Resolution Foundation, Adams Wright & Company and Brown Reid & Associates where she honed her skills in the various accounting practices and applications.
Ms. Taylor is member of the Christ Church where she is actively involved in its Outreach Programmes and serve as Treasurer for the Church as well as the school. Ms. Taylor’s display of wisdom, maturity, firmness and fairness earned has her admiration and respect of all
TREASURER

Mrs Logan-Clarke is enthusiastic about creation and life, very family oriented, disciplined and through about Financial Responsibilities. She is currently employed as Bursar at the Green Pond High School with 18 years of experience.
She presently serves in the capacity of Assistant Treasurer to the Bursars’ Association of Jamaica. Mentor at risk youth through the Passport to Success Program, Multicare Youth Foundation. Actively engaged in sharing bible messages with persons in her community of various ages and social background.
Mrs. Logan-Clarke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Management (Hons) from the Montego Bay Community College. She is adventurous, loves food and enjoy interacting with various ethnic groups.
ASSISTANT TREASURER

Mrs. Oreta Morant is the current Immediate Past Treasurer of the Bursars’ Association of Jamaica. She has served the Association in the following positions, Parish Representative for St. Elizabeth, for 3 years Vice President for Region 5, 2 years and Assistant Treasurer for one year.
She is currently employed at Lacovia High School for 26 years and as Secretary/Bursar for 20 years. Prior to this she worked as Secretary at Hatfield Primary and Junior High School for 6 months. She is a member of the Lacovia New Testament Church of God with the responsibly for Sunday School and Women’s Ministry, she is also a member of the Choir and the praise team Ministry. She previously held the responsibly of Secretary Treasurer, Officer /Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher and Vice President for the Women’s Ministry. She hold a BSc. Degree in Business Studies, Northern Caribbean University.
She is a mother of two teenagers. She loves to do needles work.
IMMEDIATE PAST TREASURER

Mrs. Sherene Carter-Moore is an ardent Christian and a member of the Members in Christ Assemblies Church where she holds the position of Youth Coordinator and Treasurer for over 10years.
She served in the Bursars Association of Jamaica as President, Vice President, Parish Representative and is currently the Industrial Relations Officer.
She is the Bursar of Haile Selassie High for over 20years. Mrs. Carter-Moore holds a BSc in Business Administration with specialization in Program and Project Management from the International University of the Caribbean (IUC), Certificate in Supervisory Management (UWI), and Certificate in Project Management (MIND).
She is and avid reader, love to plan events and believes that all man is created equal.
Her mantra is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Peta-Gay Ellington is currently the Public Relations Officer for the Bursars’ Association of Jamaica. Prior to that she held the post of Secretary from 2020-2022 and Parish Representative for Manchester from 2018-2020. Peta-Gay is employed as Bursar for Mandeville Primary and Junior High School as Bursar for over 12 years.
She holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Technology, Jamaica.

Miss Mellesha Pinto is the Vice President for Region 1 which includes Kingston and St. Andrew from December 2021 to present. She also served the Association in the capacity of Parish Representative for St. Andrew for one year. She is the Acting Bursar at the Hall's Delight Primary and Junior High School since 2013 prior to which she served as Assistant Bursar since October 2002. She was awarded Most Outstanding Bursar for Region 1 in 2019 and Bursar of the year in 2022

Petagay Thompson is the epitome of discipline, wholesomeness and dedication. She is currently the Kingston Parish Representative. She is the Bursar at the Norman Gardens Primary School.
Petagay Thompson holds a Diploma in Government Accounting, Bachelors of Education graduated with an Upper Second-Class Honours. She is a Jamaica Netball Association certified coach via The University of Technology and is also certified in Human Exceptionalism through The Mico University College.
Petagay Thompson has served in the capacity of teacher at the Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning (JFLL) for two (2) years, a coach at Browns Town Community College and the Norman Gardens Primary & Junior High Netball team for a year, and worked at Microbooks as an accounting technician for two years. After this she branched off into Bursary. She has for the past seven (7) years been functioning in this position. Miss Thompson is a warm personality who enjoys a well- cooked meal and has a passion for dogs. She is also a lover of sports and good music. She lives by the motto, “nothing is achieved without hard work and strives to be the best version of herself each day.

Currently the Bursar of the Fair Prospect High School (2012-Present). Served in several capacities, including Assistant Bursar, at The Happy Grove High School from 1999-2012.
Holds a Bsc. Accounting with honors from the University of the West Indies, Diploma in Government Accounting from the Management Institute for National Development, Associate Degree in Business Studies from the College of Agriculture Science and Education and a Level 2 certificate in Customer Service from HEART/NSTA Trust. Over the years has also participated in several professional seminars and workshops

Calm, cool and collective, a quiet, hardworking individual. She has served the Bursar’s Association as Parish Representative and Vice President for Region 2 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Mrs. Barnes worked at Seaforth High School from November 1995 to 2006 as a Clerical Assistant then she was promoted to Assistant Bursar. In November 2018 she moved on, to become the Bursar at Bath Primary and Junior High School and Lyssons Center of Excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with Major in Accounting and minor in Human Resource Management, University of Technology Jamaica. An active member of the Morant Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church.

UPPER TRELAWNY

My life epitomizes the saying, my life is a gift from God and what I do with my life is my gift to God. The second of two children of Etta Facey. Clarendonian by birth, I lived in the community of Coffals for most of my life. I attended the Race Course SDA Basic School, Race Course Primary School and then transitioned to Kemps Hill High School after sitting the Common Entrance Examinations.
During my high school years | was groomed for leadership being selected as a Prefect from grade 10. I graduated in July 1997 with a Secondary School Leaving Certificate. After leaving High School at seventeen years old all I worked at the Ministry of Health as a Records Technician. In fulfilling my career dream of being an accountant, I applied to Bethlehem Moravian College and was accepted. Upon completing my Associate Degree in Business Studies, I gained employment as an Assistant bursar at Kemps Hill High. I, then moved on to Rhodes Hall High, during this time I commenced my Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting at the Montego Bay Community College.
My quest for education did not end there I again enrolled at Bethlehem Moravian College, this time in the Teacher Education Programme, achieving a Diploma in Teaching — Secondary ( Business Studies). Since then, | have acquired the role of being the Bursar at Knockalva Agricultural School, now Knockalva Polytechnic College. I am currently enrolled in Associate Evangelism Programme. I am married to Tiffany Grant Smith. I believe in giving service, thus, I have served in various capacities as a Lay Reader, Chalice bearer, People’s Warden of the St. Bartholomew Anglican church, Youth Minister and Deanery Youth Coordinator for the parish of Hanover in the Anglican Church. I also serve on the Hanover 4-H Clubs Parish Advisory Board committee. I have been serving as Vice- President of the Bursars Association — Region 4 since 2017. Prior to holding the position of Vice- President, I was the Hanover Parish Representative. L also believe in the words of Martin Luther King — ‘It is never the wrong time to do the right thing.’ This means I am always in pursuit of getting it right in my personal life and my professional life.
HANOVER

Tashshanni Lyle is the bursar at Cross Keys High School since September 2020. She served as a Clerical Assistant at Cross Keys High School from 2010 to 2020.
Miss Lyle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Northern Caribbean University. She also holds a certificate in Supervisory Management from the University of the West Indies.
Miss Lyle loves to educate others about their rights within the workforce.
Miss Lyle is a quiet, no-nonsense individual who is keen on details and accuracy.
MANCHESTER

Mrs. Juliet Watts-Smith has been the Bursar at Ewarton High School since October 1992. She has been a member of the Bursars' Association of Jamaica (BAJ) since its inception and is currently serving on the executive body as Parish Representative for Upper St. Catherine.
Mrs. Watts-Smith is also a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Linstead, St. Catherine. She is a member of the Women's Auxiliary Group and a Sunday School Teacher.
She is a lover of cricket, netball and athletics. She plays netball and also mentors the girls on the netball team at school.
UPPER ST CATHERINE

Sherine Smith Worghs, holds the post of Bursar of the Cedar Grove Academy, is an ordain Elder at the Manning’s Hills United Church in Jamaica and The Cayman Island, a member of the Church Finance Committee, Sunday School Teacher (children) Choir member among other duties performed. She has been in the School sector for over Twenty (20) years where I started as Clerical Officer, then Assistant Bursar, then Bursar. She was also a member of the SOBA Conference Committee of 2012.
Sherine Smith Worghs love to work with children where I get a chance to plan events and functions for them. She currently hold a Master in Human Resources Management, MBA - Master of Business Administration and a Diploma in Expertise in Coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NPL) from The Universidad Internacional Isabel I De Castilla. BBA in Accounting and Finance from The University of Technology Jamaica and Accounting Diploma from the University College of the Caribbean.
LOWER ST CATHERINE

Sandia Swaby is the Bursar at Lennon High School who values and live by the school’s Motto: “Today’s Hardwork, Tomorrow’s Success”. She is currently a member of the school’s Executive Management Team which plays a major role in the decision making regarding the institution. She is a graduate of Knox Community College where she attained a Diploma in Business Studies; Mico University College where she received a Bachelors Degree in Primary Education; and The Mind Institute of Jamaica where she was awarded a Diploma in Government Accounting.
She serves the on the BAJ Executive Since 2022 to present as Upper Clarendon Rep. She is an ardent Christian who holds membership at Goshen Seventh Day Adventist Church in Clarendon. There she serves on the Church Board and also currently holds the post of Treasurer. She lives by the mantra: “this too shall pass”.
UPPER CLARENDON

Avis Graham was born and raised in the parish St. Thomas, Jamaica. She is a member of the Sandy Park Seventh Day Adventist Church and is an ordained elder with oversight for family life, women’s and children’s ministries, a mentor for girls between the ages of 12 and 18 as well as the church’s treasurer.
She worked as the Secretary/Bursar at Happy Grove High School located at Hectors River, Portland, for over 21 years. On November 27, 2017, she was commissioned as a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St Thomas by The Honourable Delroy Chuck as well as awarded the Badge of Honor for Meritorious Service by the Governor General Badge of Jamaica.
